Kaplan College’s Cincinnati Campus Launches Computer Support Technician Diploma Program

Program Combines IT Skills Development with Customer Service Focus

CINCINNATI, June 16, 2010—The Kaplan College Cincinnati campus is now enrolling students for its new computer support technician diploma program.

The 21-month program is designed to provide students with the knowledge, technical skills and work habits to pursue a variety of entry-level positions in the information technology field, particularly in network administration and computer systems support.  Graduates of the program may seek employment in positions including help desk specialist, computer lab coordinator, office systems support specialist, hardware/software installer and computer sales.

“The demand for trained information technology professionals continues to grow,” said Tony DaRosa, executive director of Kaplan College’s Cincinnati campus. “Our new program helps to meet that demand within the Cincinnati community.”

According to the Ohio Occupational Employment Projections, a report by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, network and computer systems administrator positions are expected to increase by 20 percent between 2006 and 2016.

Instruction will take place in a classroom and lab environment, where students can gain hands-on experience working with equipment they may encounter in a job setting.  Students will be taught about hardware and software, computer programs and network systems.  The program also includes a focus on developing communications and customer service skills.

The Kaplan College Cincinnati campus is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).  ACCSC is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education.
