    Kaplan College’s Hammond Campus Appoints

    New Executive Director

     

    Hammond Native Johnny Craig to Lead Local Campus


    HAMMOND, Ind., June 14, 2010— Kaplan College’s

    Hammond campus has announced the appointment of Johnny Craig as the school’s new executive director. 

     

    Craig has held education leadership positions for more than eight years, most recently as a regional director for Kaplan’s K-8 tutoring services. Prior to that, he held several other positions within Kaplan’s K-8 tutoring services, including director of a tutoring center, professional development manager and regional manager. Craig also participated in Kaplan Higher Education’s Director Development Program, a seven-month immersion program designed to provide MBA graduates with in-depth experience in private sector education.

     

    Craig holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Johns Hopkins University and a master’s in business administration from Purdue University.

     

    “Johnny brings years of education experience to the position, as well as first-hand knowledge of the Hammond community,” said Kevin Beaver, regional vice president for Kaplan Higher Education.  “He has a strong focus on fostering a student-centered environment, and will be dedicated to helping our students achieve their educational goals.”

     

    The Kaplan College Hammond campus serves more than 500 students and offers associate degree and diploma programs in the allied health and information technology fields.

     

    Kaplan College’s Hammond campus is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS).  ACICS is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education.
