    FIRST GRADUATION FRIDAY

    Ceremony to Recognize 46 Students

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla., March 16, 2011— Kaplan College’s Pembroke Pines campus will hold a graduation ceremony Friday, Mar. 18, for 46 students.  The ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Broward County Convention Center at 1950 Esienhower Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale.

The Pembroke Pines-based school will recognize students for earning a diploma in medical assistant or medical office specialist. Upon graduating, students may be eligible for entry-level positions in their field of study.

“Many of Florida’s careers require postsecondary education, and it is increasingly important to attain the skills to compete in today’s marketplace,” Steven Nelson, executive director of the Pembroke Pines campus, said.  “We look forward to seeing the positive impact our first graduating class will have on the community.”

According to the employment projections, a report by Florida’s Agency for Workforce Innovation, medical assistant positions are expected to increase by 25 percent between 2008 and 2018.
